LEAVING FOR HARKERS OCT. 16-19...HAVE HAD GOOD REPORTS OF ALBIES, LARGER TROUT SHOWING UP..WE HAD A BALL LAST YEAR CATCHING THOSE ALBIES..WE USED SPINNING GEAR AND A NEW BUCKTAIL I FOUND AT BASS PRO SHOP, IN CONCORD..THEY ARE NOT IN THE CATALOG..I FOUND THEM IN THE SALTWATER SECTION OF THE STORE..THE BUCKTAIL IS MADE BY T&M JIGS, AND ITS A 1/2 OZ. WHITE JIG WITH A VERY SHINNY TAIL.. ITS CALLED A GLASS MINNOW, AND MAN IT LOOKS JUST LIKE ONE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN THE WATER...I REMEMBER HOW THE FLY FISHERMAN USED TO GET ALL THE ALBIES, NOW I GOT SOMETHING THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE A GLASS MINNOW...THIS THING WORKS..AND IT WAS JUST 1.50 EACH..STOP BY BASS PRO AND TRY THEM YOU WONT REGRET IT. Here is another idea for you flyfishers that may be stuck with your non-flyfishing buddies that cant get the fish: let them sit there and suffer! Just kidding, what you can do is rig a fly carolina-rigged behind a casting sinker/swivel. I had to do this 2 years ago when I broke my flyrod and didnt have a backup. The great thing was, I didnt get as many hits on that as when I was stripping in the fly! You gotta love the one time of the year when we can whoop the conventional guys! Tight lines to ALL.
