What do you find to be the best fly leader for Ablies?

I have used 12# tippets, but feel something stronger is necessary. I tied some leaders with 8 feet of 12# flourocarbon to 2 feet of 20# flourocarbon bite tippet. I haven't used them yet. The 20# FC is very small in diameter!

Is 20# too much? Would something like a 16# bite tippet be better?

As long as there are no blues go with the #20. Lots of useful info using the search feature.
