This board is going to take some getting used to. Anyhow...
Does anyone have any first hand experience with Albemarle boats, particularly the 24'cc model?? I have heard the hulls are very similar to Regulators, but they have the option of the inboard drive shaft. Any info. is appreciated.

2nd hand from 20 fet. There is one that hangs out off Waquoit.

Its waaayy high on the freeboard, bow, gunwales and transom; far more so than the Reg which is a ways up there. The guys fishing off of it were definitely limited in their ability to handle schoolies for C&R and had either net or handline the fish up. You can't reach the H20 from it easlity.

that being said; when it moves out it hums and its clearly a very seaworthy boat w/ its big high bow and narrow beam.

I personally drool for the Albermarle 28 w/ twin deisels for offshore.

One thing to look at is the weight distribution. It seems to me that CC's like their weight in the stern. My reg really needs the front tank used up first. (It's got a tank under the leaning post, and an aux. tank under the seat ahead of the console.)It rides up much easier with the front tank empty than the other way around, particularly when heading downwind in good seas. A LOT less spray and digging in on all headings though. The downside is that I worry about getting a wave over the transom when trolling, and we did knock the swim platform off this summer. I hear the same said about the Cape Cod 26, an inboard diesel.
It's not a big deal, just a useful think to think about during your test ride.

my dad's got the 24 cuddy (same hull) w/ an i/o. it's the original formula off-shore hull from the 70's. albemarle bot the molds and hasn't screwed w/ them. they are great and very dry - the only draw back is they weigh more than most, and thay they tend to roll more than the more current hulls. if you have long distances to run to where you fish this is a great riding hull. good luck.

As far as I know that is the same hull as my 23' Formula CC. It is a nice hull and if you have the jack shaft configuration it will be a great fishing platform. with plenty of cockpit space. Mine is a standard I/O and that engine takes up a hell of a lot of space in the stern.
Quite dry but not an ocean boat, go the extra few feet to a Regulator or Contender if you are headed offshore.

Jeff, I know the first owner of the 24' Albemarle that hangs out in Waquoit; the one Larry B described. I could probably put you in touch with him if you're still interested. FWIW, the first owner of that boat is a hard core tuna fisherman and used this boat for offshore giant tuna fishing for years. I caught my first (and thus far only) giant from that boat. Email me and I'll try to put the two of you in touch, Dave.
