I am planning a sailing vacation in the British Virgin Island. Since I am a novice Fly Fisher (mostly experience with trout and a type of Bass we have in Argentina, and I do a bit of tying) I would like to know if anybody knows if it is legal to flyfish in the BVI, if licenses are required, and what islands are the best.
I am mostly interested in having fun, not looking for trophys, just easy and fun fishing (though I enjoy a little challenge). Also interested in small fish that may be taken on a #4 rod and line (planning to take also #8 gear).
If there are places in deserted bays where we can drop anchor, do a little fishing and stay the night, that would be ideal!

Thanks in advance!!!!

The best fishing is at Anegada and Garfield Faulkner is the guide of choice. There are bones and tarpon primarily. There's a concrete pier near the Anegada Reef Resort that can produce good tarpon late in the evening. Tarpon can also be plentiful around the docks and anchorages at Virgin Gorda. There are small flats at Jost VanDyke that bones frequent.
