Cape Lookout Report

I'm heading down from NH this thursday and I'm looking for any info on how the fishing has been the past few days.

While I was having a grand time this past weekend, mowing grass, raking leaves, washing cars, etc., friends reported that Saturday was hot fishing, Sunday was slower. Water still appears to be a bit warm, plenty of bait, should all come together.

Suggest that you not limit yourself to the immediate Cape Lookout bight area. Fish have been being caught up and down coast, offering opportunity to try other areas and species (e.g., see Cap'n Dave's early response on options). Just be cautious if you venture very far out in small boat, particulary if you get into shoals at the cape itself. Situation can change pretty quickly if wind/tide shifts.
