Have you tried the bayman universal in super hair or ultra hair? Do you think it would be as productive?

Thanks for you note.
I have not tried to tie the BAYMEN Universal with the super hair or ultra hair. I'm sure these synthetics would work, but will give a whole different look and life to the fly.
I like the fluid feel and look of real bucktail for the BAYMEN Universal pattern. The long, fine tips work the best. The super hair and ultra hair are wonderful tying materials, but quite a bit more coarse. You may want to try a little blending of both natural and synthetics to see how the pattern looks, feels, and responds in the water. Ultimately, what you think and feel and sense will be expressed outwardly in the patterns you tie. You are the artist and the tying materials are your paints and brushes. As you know, much of the enjoyment of tying comes from experimenting with different materials and learning what works and what doesn't, and why.
We just got some Moose Hair in the shop and I am currently experimenting with this natural tying material. I have never tied with it before and have no idea how it will respond in the water, but I love the looks of it. I'm excited about the possibilities and applications...
Let me know how you make out with the ultra and super hair tied as a BAYMEN Universal. If you are in the area, feel free to drop by the shop with some of your creations and to exchange ideas.
Sincerely,
