I am coming to Harkers Island for a week of chasing tunoids starting Sunday. I plan to spend a lot of time near Bardens Inlet- I understand it is a somewhat sheltered area. Two questions- does anyone ever camp out there? Should I pack neoprene waders? Thanks in advance-Tunoids Rule!!

People do camp out by the inlet, usually in the vallies between dunes. There are no land vehicles allowed out there, so it should be fairly uncrowded.

I would definitely pack waders, if you're bringing a boat you'll want the waders to get ashore, as there's no dock and you can't always pull up close enough to be able to hop out onto dry sand. If you're not bringing a boat then you'll need the waders to be able to fish seriously.
