I don't have any simple patterns to offer. But you may want to look at some crawfish patterns.

I have seen two excellent patterns. One is tied by Richard Murphy- he is one of the individuals offering instruction at United Fly Tyers in Burlington MA [1st thursday of each month]. The second, I can't remember who tied it but the main component was a rubber glove. The glove was the right color and had a textured surface. The tier cut out one piece of the glove material and formed two claws and the carapice. It was very realistic.
