Turkey

Plan to travel in Turkey during November of 2001. Will be following the Crusade routes along the Aegean Sea. There is no reason why I could not put a fly in the salt if an opportunity presents itself. Anyone have any suggestions re where, what species, when, what flys etc. Any and all thoughts appreciated. Will post on return.

Don't drink the water!
I used to spend months at Incirlic Air Base, Adana, Turkey.
Flew into Samsun on the Black Sea and saw alot of good looking shore line...Cigli on the west coast was promising also...
Never did see anyone standing in the water waving a stick so you won't have to worry about crouds or shoulder to shoulder "combat" fishing.
The Turks and the country are very interesting...You will be followed and watched by curious local folks so a few basic words of greeting/thanks etc could be handy and help to break the ice.
Just say no to drugs! Good luck and bring Imodium!
