I'm been trying to get the administration to add this
forum and since I was a good boy , santa gave in.
Here is the place to exchange fishing jokes, various
humorous stories some how related to our pastime.
Example:
When I first got my lund I was out about a mile off shore
on very hot day. I decide to take a quick swim. Now this
boat did not have a swim platform or ladder. And not till
I tried to climb in did I realize the challenge I had
created for me. I a heavy set guy and just pulling myself
over the gunnel was not working. I was getting worried
that I would have to wait for a passing boat that was
near enough to hail for help. Eventually with the
help of the rope I use for the anchor, I was able to climb
up the motor and roll into the boat.

Great Idea! Now maybe I'll make it through the winter!
Here's my contribution
I'm (normally) a very organized person. And when it comes to fishing, everything is in it's place. One summer day I got a call from a friend who wanted do some fishing after work. We are both fly casters, so we had to stop at home and get all our crap.
We pulled up to the pond and started getting ready. I was just about done I came to the realization I had forgotten something.
No not flies or leaders that I can borrow, or a wading belt I can do without, or glasses, or . . . . . .
But my reel!!!!! MINOR DETAIL!!!!!!
So I spent the afternoon sharpening my guiding skills. We we're chasing the very difficult to land.....

This could get me through the winter!!
Ok...whilst fishing the Merrimack a few years back, I was into fish pretty good. There was a guy next to me who was doing the same. He had a nice new rod & reel spiked in.
Well...not paying attention, the guy turned his back. I turned to find his rod & reel headed for the water. I yelled to him and we both made a dash for the outfit. We got close but he stopped and waved to it as it went into the deep water.
Come to find out, the guy said that's the second new outfit that happened to. Some people!!

For my kayaker brethren who are without sail or motor, take heed. Chasing Albies down wind and down current from Waquoit is great fun. However, when the pods reverse course, those with motors can follow, those without end up on Monomoy.

Sure that wasn't me, Bob?
Way back when I was fishing chunk macks at Plum Island (probably 10 years ago), the same thing happened but with a twist. I spiked the rod, turned my back to stow some gear, heard a swishing sound behind me, only to turn around and watch helplessly as my rod was yanked from its holder and dragged at a high rate of speed into the drink. Didn't even have time to react. Disgusted not only that I'd lost a rod but probably a damn good fish, I decided to go down the street for a quick bite and come back with my spare rod.
Well I returned to same area of beach, and wouldn't you know that someone was hollering he had a big one on. I watched in amazement as he pulled in his "catch." It was the rod I had lost an hour ago with a striper attached! It took some doing but I finally convinced the guy that the rod was mine and gave him the fish (just over keeper size for that year) as a reward for recovering my gear.
Another time (why is it always Plum Island?) after a sleep-deprived all-night fishing session, I managed to leave one of my better spinning outfits leaning against a post on the beach as I drove off. Someone wound up with some nice gear as I never did see that rod again....

Don't Feel too bad....
I,just 1 day ago on the 19th of June, purchased my first REAL boat which is a 18' Starcraft Cabin Cruiser that is all rigged and ready for downrigging with the trolling motor and all. With the boat in tow on my way home and other guys looking as I make my way down the expressway, I feel a strange "CLUNK" and I decide to pull over to check it out thinking I may have lost my trolling motor! As I pull to the side of the road MY TRAILER DISCONNECTS FROM MY TRUCK!! After bobbing several times and nearly flipping over into the next lane, my boat comes to a stop against the rear of my truck. Come to find out the reason...the guy I baught the boat from hadn't latched the ball right but still managed to get the safety pin in and the schmuck who bought the boat ( ME ) didn't check his work!!! I was able to re crank the boat up and re mount it and make it home only this time I decided to go home the back roads at 35mph.
