Has anyone ever used Braided Monocord lines, particularly the Orvis one? I am looking for a summer floating flats line and the orvis lines are on sale.

I use the cortland ones... I like them. Some have complained about memory issues, but I havent found it so bad.

I also use Cortland. It shoots fine and I've had no memory problems with it. My only complaint about braided lines is that they are a little rough on the hands after a full day of casting. (Yeah I know, suck it up and build up some callouses ;-)). I'm think of subbing it with Micron mono as an experiment, just to see how different it is.

Adam- Do you treat these lines the same as a shooting head or regular fly line? By this I mean do you overline the rod by 1 or 2 sizes like you do for a shooting head, or do you stay with the rod's rating . rel

Yep. I usually go one line size, but have gone 2 from time to time.

Thanx. Is the running line any heavier on the larger lines than on a 10wgt. rel
