Onset Bound

After ten years of living on Nantucket, me, the dog, and the boat are moving to Onset. Unfortunatley there is a "multi-year" waiting list for mooring permits. I heard that if you bypass the town and somehow go to the state for your mooring permit, this can be done. Has anyone have any ideas about this. Sure would not want to upset anyone by going over their heads.
Anyway, I am looking forward to fishing new area and would be interested in hooking with anylocal Reel-Timers from the Onset/Wareham area.

I don't know about going to the state to get a mooring but you may want to try this it worked well for a friend of mine a couple years back in the same area. He waited till most boats were put in the water and then checked all the moorings that weren't being used got the #'s off them went to the town got info about owners. He checked with some of them and found one willing to rent her mooring to him. You will find many moorings not being used in the back coves, it may be worth it to give it a try. Good luck,
