Water temp 54 degrees. Big stripers are still on the shoals. Large 4oz topwater water plugs have been working the best. Smallest fish has been 36 pounds. The weather is the ruler here the shoals are unnavigatable in rough weather. Plenty false albacore, casting to schools of busting fish in the 10 to 15 pounds range. Pretty exciting watching a fly being thrown into a mass of busting fish. Its a reel battle on a fly rod.

Redfish in the surf and in the marshes. Gin Clear conditions will continue through early april. great sight fishing opportunties in the clear water takes your breath away. Fly or spin have been both been effective this past week.

Dave - How long does the Fat Albert Spring run last?
You are about a 14 hour drive from my upstate NY digs.

Are you chumming or just following the birds?

just watching the wind blow today but is a warm wind which makes me smile. Its coming around to the north and laying down. The water temp should be rt for 6 weeks. haven't had to chum, but if u did I sure the result would be etremely postive! No fishing pressure at all during the week. Large bait small bait theres a mix.
