All the bolts on my intake manifold and exhaust manifold loosened up (I guess just from normal usage), I am the original owner and have about 500 hours on the motor. Anyway, the loose bolts caused water leakage in the engine compartment and created a weak ground. All the electrical components had gotten wet along with the spark plugs. I could not get the engine to rev higher than 1100 rpm's. Does anyone reading this message know if this a common accurance?
Does anyone know if I should replace the gaskets, if so what are all the gaskets I should replace?
How difficult a job is this. I am a driveway mechanic that can do most repairs on cars. Thanks for the help, Carl

You should try this link for your engine questions. I think it is better suited for this type of inquiry.

If you tightened them and it is no longer leaking I would just keep an eye on it. Pay particular attention to the electrical components and spray everthing down with corrosion block or similar spray.
