Last time I was there (10yrs. ago) Rum Point was the plac
to go. From what I hear, it's much more polluted wit
hotels now, but there was a HUGE flat there. Bring your fl
dope too!

I was there a year ago for a few days. I found 2 areas within a 1/2 hr. drive from 7 mi. beach. The first was on the point (I forget the name) that you get to by driving north from 7 mi. beach, then follow the shore east as far as you can go. Last few miles are on unpaved roads, so a small SUV can make access easier. The flats there are deeper, depending on tide, and have a lot of darker bottom areas, tougher for spotting fish. But a pretty, unspoiled area.
The second place was a small park along the southern shore (some monument?), in the middle of a residential area with new construction going up. A local tackle shop told me about the place. There's a small, very shallow flat inside of the barrier reef that attracts schools of small bonefish.
The bottom had a lot of hard coral, and in the shallow water, my Charlie's and Gotcha's tended to hang up. I'd suggest some unweighted flies here, preferably ones that ride point up like a bendback.
Good luck.

6 or so years ago i fished off of 2 jettys behind the
Raddison on 7mb. Go out the back of the hotel till you
hit the water, turn left and walk about 100 - 200 yards.

Walk on the jettys and fish all around them at about 5-6pm
when the swimmers come in. That's when the bonefish startto dine in the area. Watch out for snags!
