Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a barbell eye mold(lead). I'm having a very difficult time finding one.
I'd like to weigh in here about the lead thing, and it's not an attack or personal thing from me.
As many of you know, states are outlawing lead sinkers and in fact many manufacturers are shifting to the non-toxic material, which all of a sudden I can't remember the name of (an age thing). Shouldn't this be a consideration in lead barbell eyes for flies, along with stainless hooks(my opinion) not a lot of which rot away like the cad plated steel...just my two cents.
Just remembered the word - BISMUTH.

Natick Outdoors in Natick ,Ma sells plated lead eyes which are sold by Universal Vise co. Also Hook & Hackle sells lead eyes aswell as Cabellas. However I have found that the brass plated eyes are much better all around. There is less of a chance of breaking your rod than with lead because you can cast the lighter brass eye more easily.
