Where can I fish from shore in Falmouth? I was going to go to Harwich or Cotuit this weekend, but may try Falmouth.

Any tips would be great.

wow, that got a lot of ????????'s. anyways, i don't know the exact name of the area. i got a tip from a friend who lives in the area; my usual haunts are a bit further down. it's where there are a bunch of jetties lining the beach and there's an inlet right in the middle. i guess if you're heading from waqouit area, it's like 6 or 7 miles down. take a left. i just tried various spots wherever i could get in. i didn't bother with the walk to waqouit; but if you fished up inside, i bet you'd find 'em. by the way, they were bass, @20 - 26#, around seven, with a few near misses thrown in. i'd give the blues maybe another week; but with the sq boats working, you never know. the water's warming fast, but this weekend's cooler weather may set them back a bit. if there's a day you want to try this week, you should make it tomorrow(friday)right before the thunderstorms/cold front moves through. that should light them up before the bad weather. also, you'll find better action in the afternoon/dusk in early may as the water warms throughout the day.

Sorry. Getting excited. Truely if they're in one spot on one tide they're probably in another spot on another tide.

Without to much ???????????????????????????????? Did you fished at Maravista jetty?

Don't get all cranked up by these "reports". I have been along the Falmouth coast every morning from dawn til 7:00 all this week and a couple of evenings. I have seen two decent (27-30") fish caught both on live herring both after more than an hour and 5 or 6 herring. No missed strikes just freshening bait. I have seen no schoolies or signs of them no bluefish or reports of them. Not that fishing won't perk up and quickly but there is no blitz going on by any streach of the imagination.

BTW..Marivista jetty is a good a spot as any to try.

which one's the maravista jetty? is it one of those down the street from the casino? i just drive around checking spots and try a few casts here and a few casts there, from cotuit down 28, along the falmouth shore. at this time of year, when i get a hit, i check it out. in another week or so, i know where i'll be; but early i don't like to spend to much time in one spot. today should be awesome!

If you continue driving east from Falmouth Heights on Menauhant, you will come to a motel(used to be called Maravista motel, now time share)right before the new concrete bridge. the jetty on both sides of the bridge has been one of my favorite fishing spots for many years. Try also the shore line of Great Pond behind the motel at night. Parking is not easy. Start fishing from no later than 4am. talking about 4am try the jetty at Falmouth Harbor before boats start going out. Please keep it confidential!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
