GREAT RECIPE FOR JUMBO BLUEFISH

we all know those jumbo blues aren't the best. but try this next time you're stuck with one you had to keep.

take one large bluefish (ungutted) and chop into three (3) pieces.

now take those pieces, and place one of each in a lobster trap.

set trap, and return in three days.

damn thing tastes just like lobster.:-)

i still prefer to take a bluefish filet and nail it to an oak plank...cover in herbs and spices and cook...when its done cooking, remove the filet, throw it away and eat the plank.

You guys need to build/buy yourselves a smoker. You'd be amazed what it lets you get away with. At Home Depot, for
<$200 you can get a nice one w/ an offset firebox. You
may end up keeping more bluefish than you realize.

Poor Blues!!!!!! They really have a bad reputation. They may have to hire a good PR agent to improve their image and taste. I heard a story many years ago and it goes like this. In the Genesis after God finished crating all the amimals on the earth, all the animals sat around and tried each other's meat and the human meat tasted the worst that all the amimals were so disgusted with the smell and taste of human meat and they all said "hell with the stinky human meat" and left them alone. That's why there are more human than the animals on the earth. Can you imagene if we tasted so good? All the wild animals will be waiting for us to come out at the door of every houses.
