Couldn't get a bass to save my life this weekend! On the other hand, couldn't get rid of the bluefish to save my life either! We found blues ranging from 2 pounds up to 10 lbs all over the place. The gut, the ruins, the flats off SI, the Race. I even tried 400 grain depth charges to get deeper to the bass. Still couldn't get one. My only problem was that I left one of my tackle bags at home with my knotable wire. I lost about 20 flies on Saturday! I finally put on a wire leader from my spinning rod, which made casting a nightmare and wasn't too pretty to look at, but bluefish don't really care what your cast looks like. My friend didn't care for it too much though. I almost burried a 2/0 hook in his ankle.
Finally got my new boat in the water this weekend. Have to say I'm quite pleased. Although the first fish to grace her prescence was a Sea Robin. Believe me, I was croaking just as loud as he was when I boated him. God their nasty fish.
Looked for that Cinder worm hatch that had this board so lit up last week. Didn't see a thing happening.
Have a good week everyone.
