If you read the reports "the bay is full of fish" Unfortuneatly with small craft warnings the bay was not full of boats.

I tried heading up to a few of my favorite spots up in the Great Marsh. General it fishes better on the outgoing however I was not properly armored for the greenhead fly attack and had to leave after swatting several dozen.

Had to work much harder for the fish I did catch. Never did get one on the flyrod today. Even my lobsters pots came up empty.

Guess I'll just have to settle for steamers I dug due to the slow fishing. :)

The day started off under cloudy skies with only a light breeze, no white caps.

Fish were on the surface outside the harbor on the east side. They would crash on bait for a few minutes and move on. It was a bit busy with sometimes as many as six boats working the waters under the birds. All boaters were using the long wand. Chartreuse/white, olive/white worked when the fish could find them amonst the bait.

I was working a group a birds away from the crowd when one of the other boats motored over and started to fish. When the pod moved on, the boater complained about the number of boats and that if they just stayed on a drift "they'd be into fish all day", then he motor off to chase another group of birds.

Moved on to Sesuit and found some more birds working. I had good consistent action on fish 24 and under until a small bluefish ate my fly.

Glad I made it back to B.H. before the wind picked up.

And speaking of wind!!! I was out there to catch the end of low, start of the incoming. I did not catch any fish, and didn't see any caught. Saw a couple of micro bass and long strings of 2" sandeels while wading on the west side of the channel. It was so windy I had a 45' roll cast with a #9 full sink line.
