Frequently here on Cape Cod, we get a lumpy afternoon chop. Will a set of heavy duty 15 or 16 foot outriggers, mounted on my T-Top hold up and stay reasonably straight if used on a 23 foot center console? I typically fairly fast, for the given conditions, and am concerned that 'riggers might not withstand the girations created by a small boat. Furthermore, will the poles stand up to trolling small spreader bars intended for tuna up to a couple hundred pounds. The intent is to fish east of Chatham (about 35 miles each way)and as far south as the dumping grounds (roughly 75 miles each way). Any thoughts on the ultimate outrigger clips?

All depends on how they're mounted to the t-top and what size backing plates are used. They should hold up if they were mounted adjacent or through one of the t-top's struts. Spreader bars are another question all together. The drag might make it tough to keep the outriggers outboard if they are the swivel-n-lock kinds without fore and aft collapsing riggers. Good luck.

save yourself some trouble. get a pair of SOS telescoping poles and retract them and stow them away before heading home.
