I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I could buy a rotary type vise for around $50? If not what vise should I buy and how much do they run? I've looked at a few but they're all close to $300.
Thanks for any input.

Eric:
I have had a Renzetti Traveler Series Rotary Vise for several years. It’s a high quality “entry” level vise, which is both durable and functional. I expect to have it forever. The cost was about $129. Check it out. Good luck.

I think the Danvise is about $75, it's molded plastic or something, but its real cheap. I've heard some good reviews...

Last year I started tying for saltwater fly fishing and this vise has served the purpose.

There is a Regal rotary knock-off that sells for about 30 bucks. Both myself and Peter Sorensen use it and it works great. holds hooks to about 8/0. Check the archives - I put up a link to a supplier back in Dec.
The Dan Vice is not a good SW vice. Barely will hold a 2/0 hook.

Adam,
I checked the December archive and found your message regarding an India made Regal rotary knock off but there was no link to a supplier. If you still have that info please post it or send to my personal email.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks, Eric

I just ran across an Anvil vise. I have no idea what the quality of this particular vise is. I'm looking for one, myself, and have found all previous info very helpful. If anyone has any knowledge regarding the Anvil vise I would appreciate it. The price is $89.95, lifetime warranty, "true" rotary, etc.

Thanks to all.
