Okay I finally got around to Josko's question concerning the drag screep of Redington's new reels. Warning this was not a very scientific experiment.

I spooled an AL13/14 (Large Arbor 13/14 weight) reel with 250 yards of 30lb backing. I then toured the shop to find something that weighted 10lbs, I found a 10lb mushroom anchor and I grabbed a Penn 6ft boat rod. No way I was going to risk breaking a fly rod. At first I could not lift the anchor with the rod. So I had someone lift the weight with the rod tip while I managed the reel and drag. With the drag set to max there was no slippage at all. I then released the drag and the weight lowered to the floor smoothly. Later today Juro stopped by and I repeated the test with out the rod. With the drag set to max I lifted the anchor and there was some very slow creep which I could not stop. But again when the drag was release the weight dropped smoothly to the floor.

I thought the drag behaved very well under these conditions.
