I'm pretty new to the offshore world and need some help. I live in fort walton beach, florida. I have a 19ft cape horn and have been trying without success to catch any tuna. obviously it must different from fishing for kings.any hints or suggestions on bait, lures, line weight, leaders,or locations would be greatly appreciated.

I 'm from massachusetts, but I am a total tuna freak and I have caught most known species of tuna on fly gear as well as conventional. It depends on what kind of tuna you are after, but if you want little tunny or as you call them, bonito, chum with glass minnows over a wreck almost as you would for yellowtail. If it is blackfin you want, try to live chum with pilchards above some form of underwater hump or spire in around 200 feet of water. If you want yellowfin, then troll spreader bars with calcutta bullyhoo, or fish green machines around six knots around rips, temp breaks, flotsam, rips, or spires and Humps, basically wherever there is bait. Try these tricks and you will be in for the fight of your life.
