Penn fly rods

Does anyone have experience with Penn International fly rods?

It's really not indicative of the others in the line, but I have the Penn 15wt.... Built like a tank, but very heavy.

I cast others when they first came out and thought the 8 and 9wt was too slow, and heavy.... The newer models may be better....

<FONT color=black face="Times New Roman,Times" size=2>daveb-I started SWFF with the Penn gold medal 10wgt which is a medium fast rod but not as heavy as the international 10 wgt which I got a deal on. The good thing about the international is its lifting power- plenty. It will handle a 325 quick descent nicely. Just my .02. rel</FONT>

They are very heavy, medium-stiff but indestructable rods. no need to worry about high-sticking or other sorts of breakage other rods experience. I can cast a 12 wt OK, but there is a huge difference between it and a light T&T, for example.
I'd guess a 10 wt would be a good heavy shore rod, and they'd all make great boat rods.

I have a penn 9 wt. I have had good success with it, although it is a bit on the heavy side. It is built like a tank like the others said. I got a great deal on it and couldn't pass it up.
