Hit the lunch hour down at Second Beach this afternoon. Numerous pods of bait fish are being worked just beyond the purple, oatmeal thick seaweed in the surf. I was told the bait is Mullet and it's being worked by some nice sized Bass. Problem is the seaweed is awful. It goes without saying I still suited up and gave it a shot. I only managed one decent hit with a popper but I missed the fish. I still was able to take something home from the sea though. It was about 8 pounds of that seaweed stuck to Velcro, in my pockets, on my gear, in my wading shoes, it was gross. After about 20 minutes of rinsing it of, I'll be able to give it a shot later today. I'll keep you posted. Also Third Beach has been loaded with bait as well. That's an adventure waiting to happen.
