Anyone know where I can order parts for an old-style (the heavy kind that has a solid sideplate rather than holes) SA II 89 reel? I need a new reel footing.

Also, will the spare reel spools for the newer SA II 89 fit on the old-style SA II?

Bill,
You can call SA at 800-525-6290 (thanks Marvin L.!); the production guy I spoke with at that number was very helpful lining me up with some new brake pads for an older SA II 8/9; maybe they can do something for you regarding the reel foot.

Hi Bill...I just sent back 2 SA Syst 2 flyreels in for new drags...I went to www.mmm.com/scianglers/ Used the contact us email and they gave me a snail addy to a Michigan plant. I sent the reels in and they replaced both sets of drags and gave me two spare sets for 25 bucks for both reels...turn around time was about 10 days...Good service ;-))...Jeff

Thanks guys for the info. Got an answering service at the toll-free number so I just called the factory. They are sending out a new reel footing for free (!) and also answered my spool interchangability question. (The old reels and new spools are compatible as long as it is not an L series spool).
