Need Some Help

I know some of you fish Kings, Browns, and the Caswells from shore. I may want to give it a go and retrace my roots back to beach fishing this weekend. I really miss it.

Is there a new, secret passage way getting to those spots without walking the entire distance from the Point?? We used to drive into the Radar Base many years ago but I think you need a permit now to do that. If anyone can give me information I would appreciate it. If it's too sensitive for you to post, maybe you can email me.

Did you end up going? It was a little windy for fly fishing from shore this weekend. Fri night I tried a couple of downwind spots near Easthampton with no success. I would imagine Turtle Cove and south of there might have been somewhat sheltered....?

I took the time this weekend to changed the oil and filters on the boat, and re-line my 130s with new line in hopes of Giants. No fishing at all this weekend, just doing the nessessary prep for hopefully some fall blue fin. Don't think anyone had a chance in that weather either from shore or boat. NOAA called for 19 foot seas offshore, and 10-12 inshore.

Things should heat up pretty good when it calms. The trick offshore is to find them again. They were at the south east corner of the Dump which is 60 miles to the east south east. Usually they will move west this time of year and they may be right off montauk at the 700 square (25 miles south of the point). I hope to be out there towards the end of the week. If you'd like to join us let me know.
