Anyone have a reccomendation for a thinner to use w/Devcon 5 minute epoxy? I'm working on some crease fly patterns and a thinned-out epoxy mix would seem to work best for protection and finish.
Thanx

Likewise. ;-);
Bob,
I think a 14 RPM motor like mine may handle the job fine with a 30 min. epoxy. I'll run a test. Please give me some time and remind me by email.

Bob, use pure commercial grade acetone. Be sure to wear rubber gloves and use in a well ventilated area but it thins epoxy well. Regards, Peter

Bob -
I have tied about 5-6 dozen Crease Flies and have come up with an alternative to Epoxy. See if you can get some "Soft Epoxy by Loon". Your local fly shop should be able to get it foy you. I have tried everything from Softex to Silicone and found that the Soft Epoxy works the best. You mix it and use it like reg. epoxy but when it sets up it stays somewhat soft but not sticky. It is very thin but works well. E-mail me at bbuzzi@injersey.com to discuss.

While acetone will work well, it has a very strong odor and is highly toxic. I prefer 99% isopopel alcahol.
