Reel Problem

Several years ago I bought the, what was then, new Cortland LTD Graphite reel, the X-Large 120 model. So far, it has functioned fine. I was interested in the light-weight nature of the graphite. However, Cortland has discontinued the manufacture of this reel. I was hoping to find an extra spool for the reel, but no luck--even from Cortland. Does anyone know where I might find an extra spool, or even an extra reel? Jim Lee

Try Ebay - you'll probably need to look for a while, but I think you'll see something there eventually.

If it helps, you can set up an automated notification of searches you do on Ebay. Basically you enter a search topic, click the search button, and go to the search results. At the bottom of the search results page is a link you can press to save this search to your "Favorites" screen. From here you can set it up to automatically notify you if something matching your search is listed on Ebay.

Maybe you can check out some of the flyfishing shows in the late winter / early spring. If that doesn't work I hate to say it, but you might just have to suck it up and buy a new reel.
