Looking to pick up a rod and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Scott STS Saltwater Rods. Mostly Striper, Albie, and Bones, what weight to get?
Thanks

Hi conative,
I have a Scott STS 9wt. and have used it on Stripers,Snook and Salmon. I can only say good things about this rod and the service has been very good. Good luck. jeffp

Hello Conative,
I have an STS 9 wt. and an STS 10 wt. Both are excellent rods and cast the lines rated for them, except for SA intermediate Striper lines. If you use SA lines one size larger, they are perfect. RIO and Wulff lines are well suited for STS rods.
My first choice for stripers and false albacore would be the STS 10 weight. The 9 wt. is a delight to cast but you will want the 10 wt. when the wind is blowing heavily. When is the wind not blowing heavily??

Hi there,
I have a Scott STS aftm 8. I canīt say anything bad about this rod and I chose the STS after trying the Sage RPLXi and T&T horizon.
It is perfect for bones, but maybe a 9 weight is better for stribers in tuff conditions.
I am from Denmark and use my STS especially for big pikes.
Donīt forget the new Scott S3 it looks great
