I am looking at the LL Bean Orion or the GLoomis GL3 bith in a 9' 9wt. Bean has a better gaurentee hands down. What I know of the Orion is that it is a bit faster and slightly heavier than the GL3.

To all of you out there (especially those of you in New England close to LL Bean and its users) What is your overall impression of LL Bean Rod? Why dont more guys own them? Is it a prestige issue? Or are people afraid of the private label? Or are they simply inferior to the big name rods?

Any opinions welcomed.

There rod's are built by G.Loomis.What else can you say.Except great rod's,they are, hand's down. For the money,I would go with the Orion. Tight line's!

I have an 11 wt. L.L. Bean SLT, now discontinued, which I like very much. I would say it is equal in quality to my Sage/T&T/Scott top of the line rods only a little bit slower action.
