Rather than no kayak at all this year, wife says under 400 bucks if at all. Looking at these two shorties with big cockpits and added width / stability for general lake and lite ocean fishing. Rather have the America, but big bucks needed soon for crib, baby furniture, stroller, car seat, etc.
Anyone out there have one of these? Preference? Should I wait and pick up the America or Pungo next year????
Help!!!
Expecting in August,
Tom:confused:

Baby in August I'd wait till next year and get the better yak.
For now bum rides off others ie "not using boat this weekend could I"
The other thought is with a baby you might have to pack up your fishing gear and either store it or sell it. Your Honey Do list will be very long:D

Did you check out the Wilderness Systems Pamlico 140. Runs around $900 with rudder system.

Why not Looks used?
I just got a nice old town loon 138 for well under $400. I believe Sakonnett BH even has a (pretty beat) used Pungo for under $300. ( I've seen the boat, someone else quoted the asking price.) There around if you look hard on the net and want ads.
FWIW, Critter would bo an OK boat in calm waters but I wouldn't take it out in anything rough or on long hauls. That wide flat bottom is not the best design for tracking or bumpy stuff.
TC, If your close enough for the trip, go to Collinsville, CTR on 4/20 and check out the used boats in the consignment sale. Bluewater is taking one of his to the Collinsville Canoe and Kayak 2 day sale that weekend. I'm headed that way to check out the joint for Pungo's
Take the lady and make a day of it! They have seminars, etc., RJ :p
