This will be the last post when I will ask this question, I promise. Maybe.
I found one more reel that fits the bill for a reasonably priced large arbor. The price isn't too far over $100. That's what worries me. As the saying goes'You get what you pay for'.
I could wind up getting a lemon for a fly reel.

Anyway, anyone have experience with STH Cayuga Large Arbors? Any users past or present? Any opinions on them?
Heresay is welcome.

Tight lines,

Teton makes the Tioga Series. It's design and innards (drag)
are the same as the Teton higher priced reels.

I have 6,8 & 10 wt Tiogas and have had excellent results over the 6 years I've been using them. I also have a Sci-Ang System 2 - 8 wt. and a Orvis Battenkil 7/8. I like the Tioga over them. The System 2 is excellent but the Tioga's are my every day reel and the S-2 is my back up 8 Wt. with a full sinking line.

For the price of the Tioga you can just about get a reel and a spare spool for the $200 you were planing to spend.

Think Silverado Pick up and not Mercedes SUV. Tioga reel are workhorses. If you into form following function, they are pretty goodlooking units.

That make and series of reels has come up again and again. Not too expensive, good drag and innards, with a lifetime warentee. And spare spools aren't outrageously priced. So be it! Tioga it is!! Now, if only my tax refund would get here!

1) Tiogas are a good reel at a great price
2) e-File!
