My long and weary search for a PUNGO ended yesterday! Even after agreeing with everyone that the Pungo Angler package was much too much cost wise for what was offered, I now own a PUNGO ANGLER.

I want to thank Sam, RIBill, Bluewater and a host of others for putting up with my PUNGO aquisition obsession.

My oldest son Tom, a yaker himself, located and purchased a PUNGO ANGLER in Kingston, NY and gave it to me as a birthday present. Sand in color and fully equipped with cockpit cover, drybag, and the aforementioned Angler Package. The unit was used for a very short while and returned to the dealer for a bigger yak. The Price was right and the color will fit right into my duck hunting plans.

"Luck o the Irish" is working here lads! Now I just have to spend some time on the water and decide where to mount my flyrod holders. The "Outfitting a Yak for Fishing" thread will be invaluable.

Life is Good.

RJ,

Congrats! I think you'll find that the yak opens up a whole new world of fishing for you.

I have the "Scotty Fly Rod Holder" that Cabelas carries. Go to their site and search on that term. I like it a lot.

The "Outfitting a Yak for Fishing" thread has a picture of the mount. Two small 1/4 inch holes and a couple SS bolts, nuts and washers does the trick.

I haven't figured out how to use the float tube straps for something else yet ;)

As an aside, I don't like the big spin rod holder that is in the picture. They make a smaller one with a strap like the fly rod holder. Just in case you are tempted by the dark side.
