ok you boaters, I have a chance at a free slip for a month. do I need to bottom paint? on another board the 2 answers i got were split one said I have to, the other said if I pull it up on the trailer a couple times and wash the slime off, I'll be ok. what is your take on this one folks. I don't want to have to paint from now on. thanks, Tom D

As I see it, you can park the boat near a beach during high tide and let it sit exposed during low, quick scrub is needed. while you shore fish till the tide rises. Pull it out on a trailer or paint it.

If it's for only one month, I would not paint the bottom. You should clean it with a scrub brush once or twice or else you will have a doosie when you take it out. If you were going to slip the boat regularly, i would paint the bottom.
