I have to go down and see the in laws. The choices are not great, but that is another story. Will be down in the syosit area. I have fished a few places down there with varying success. I thought I would scout out Port Jefferson for likely Albicore spots for the fall and maybe some good Bass fishing. Can any one tell me will there be any Bass in early April, and if there are any spots that are good?

Thanks Chad

I would think this would be a bit on the "plane wasting my time" side of the choice...early April on Long Island is just that--early. (At least in my experience).

I have caught a few during this time, though this may only amount to two fish in the past two years.

Perhaps, if you are willing and able, you could take a short ride to the Keyspan (formerly LILCO) Power Plant in Northport. Consistent mid-size schoolie action can be had there without question. If interested go to www.noreast.com for directions (look in the bulletin board). I would give directions myself, but I haven't been there since ealy last season, and when I did go, I was coming from west of the plat (you will be coming from east).

Good luck and hope this helps.y
