Next Saturday (6/29) my brother and I are taking kayaks to monomy. Our plan is to hit the water at first light and paddle to Monomoy North. While we have the kayaks, we expect to do mostly wade fishing once we get to out there. If anyone else would like to join us let me know. This is only my second trip, so its not a guided tour but I'll share what little I know to any first timers.
How about it Sam and Pete? Up for getting the skunks out of the yaks?;)

My plan is to launch at 6:00 AM Saturday morning. This will give us plenty of light, but also give us time to reach the flats before the boat traffic gets high. The weather looks pretty good, 70 degrees, light wind, and partly sunny.
I'm going to suggest the same spot Sam used. To quote Sam, "Our launch spot in on the causeway between Outermost Harbor and Morris Island (on Morris Island Road). As you pass the marina and hit the causeway, you will see Stage Harbor to your right and the southern part of Outermost Harbor on your left. There will be small boats moored here. Park on the left hand side up against the guard rail and near one of the trails cut through to the water."
I will be in a Silver/Grey Jeep SUV with a Red Kayak. I will also have another kayak with me, color yet to be determined.
If you visit Ray's post for the first Monomoy trip on June 8th it will give a list of things to bring.
If you plan on going, please post before Thursday afternoon as I will be gone all day Friday. Thanks.

Sounds good.
I'm still leaning toward joining you.
I'm about 80%, and will confirm on Thursday.
I'm not real familiar with Chatham. I have been to the Marina at Stage Harbor. There's a bridge there with a salt marsh on the opposite side of the road from the Marina.
Now I'm not sure where you're saying to meet from there.
Do you have street name? I need to get a map of Chatham to understand your directions.

G-Man,
I've only been there once, so I can't be much help. I followed the directions to the marina
(www.outermostharbor.com) and then used Sam's directions and I found the location. I did miss a turn and end up at the marina. However, once at the marina I back tracked and quickly figured it out.
About a hundred yards before the marina you reach a fork. If you bear left you end up at the marina, a right takes you to the causeway. Another possible method to get directions is to go to the Monomoy wildlife location. I don't know the exact name of it, but you drive on the causeway about 100 yards before hitting the wildlife area.

OK Garth...I'm in.
I looked at a map, and I think I understand the put in spot.
I'll be in tan van with blue kayak.
6am it is.
Looking forward to it.
