Are any of the ramps in Poppy or Cotuit open to the general public? I love fishing the area but always get beat up rounding the corner at Succonesset pt. I need about 2' of water to launch. Any info would be appreciated.

If i'm not mistaken Ocway bay and mashpee river ramps on Great Neck Rd South in Mashpee are open to the public.

Ockway Bay is public and free. This bay connects into Popponesset Bay. The bay is shallow at low tide but still ok for small boats. I used to do it in my 16' lund. Ramp is off Great Nect rd.

There is a ramp into Popponesset with limited parking along the street. After going around the rotary pass Great Neck rd. take rt 28 N (towards Hyannis) You will see a sign for public rd within 100yds. It's Quinaquisset rd About 3/4 mile on your right take Mashpee Neck rd. Ramp is at end.

A close launch is a place called Dowses Pt. It's a little public launch--blacktop and no dock--kind of a wader or shorts launch. With 2', it will only be good mid to high tide but do-able. Parking is south of the launch off the side of the road. It's off E. Bay Road in Osterville. Main street to East Bay.

Also launched from another launch in Osterville off Main Street. Best I remember is go to the main downtown and then head west on Bay Rd. It dead ends at the launch.

Both are not too busy with the first being the least. But, you'll need to time it as low tide they are both too shallow for 2'--unless you have a roller trailer. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I used the Ockway bay ramp and was into fast action minutes after leaving the beach. Mostly 2-3# blues with an occasional 6# closer to cotuit. My boat smells like fish again and I'm happy.
That Ockway bay was shallow, about 6" outside the boat ramp but navigable in an aluminum boat. Thanks again
