I thought the "harrassing seals" comment and the "like crossing an expressway" were pretty interesting. If you can;t cross a boat wake you don't belong out far enough to harrass seals. Besides, these are little boats...with paddles. I have seen some stupid people but I don;t know of any that wouldn't have some respect for a big toothy fast 400 lb animal in water. I would think the motor boats are more of a nusiance to seals...not me and my paddle. But I am sure there are millions of exceptions and scenarios where kayakers get too close etc...just thought it was interesting. I think this is a great idea for less experienced paddlers and those few boaters that refuse to have any respect for other people on the water, and I do mean few because most people go out of there way to reduce the wake around kayakers. But are they going to protect kayakers from tides, currents, and weather too??
