I've just moved to boston and am dying to go fishing somewhere in the harbor or near the city. Can anyone suggest a good fishing place, i don't have a boat. Closer to downtown the better!

First off, Boston Harbor is great. You might want to read the FishWire report from last week to get some ideas, then tomorrow morning, I'll be posting a new one.
Reel-Time FishWire Report For Boston (http://www.reel-time.com/fishwire/boston/update.htm)
I've been a little lax with updating the archives, maybe I can sort them out in the morning.
Assuming you are fishing from Shore, run a search on this board for:
Wollaston
Castle Island
Boston Harbor
Winthrop
Deer Island
Stoddard Park
Harbor Islands
Lands End
Also, assuming you have a car, you should consider checking out the Merrimack River in Newburyport (at Plum Island), or the North River in Marshfield, the Jetty or Long Beach in Plymouth, the Powder Point Bridge in Duxbury.
In short, if it's wet and salty, there is a good chance you will find fish there.
I'd offer to take you out on the harbor, but I'm not going out this weekend, and I'm not sure if I'll shake loose during the week for a night on the water.

I suggest you buy Jack Gartside's book on fishing Boston. Its very helpful. I don't know his website, but you should be able to find it using a search engine.

Hi, im new in Boston and also looking for good fishing spots, so if you like, we may get in touch and maybe go and look for some nice spots together. I have some free time and would love to do some good fly fishing.

Do you have the address to the Powder Point Bridge in Duxbury? What is biting there? What rigs or baits should I use? Is there any tackle and bait store in Duxbury?--124-3

Hey men, do you know where I can find some bluefish from the shore like bridge, pier, and etc in Boston? References, tips, aids, and information would be much apperticated.
And what can you tell me about the Granite Pier? Should I fish on the rocks or on the granite floor? :D

You've still got a shot at Rhode Island's shore, but I'd expect that Boston has seen it's last blue for the season.
Now for the long, cold winter....--124-3

www.jackgartside.com will take to to Jack's home page. :)
Of course, Jack is a lunatic (or to say it politely, slightly fish-crazed), but, then again, he would be the first to admit it. :p Although the naysayers will naysay, he is the only one to have his pic on a giraffe float in a national magazine. Hehe!
