Last night a group from the CCA Metro West chapter got together to fish the harbor. My group of three left Winthrop at 4:00 figuring we can get some fishing in before the rain.

First we headed to the lee of Long Island, but found nothing. We motored around a bit looking for shelter and birds. We found birds near the airport. Followed them for about an hour on and off. I caught 5 stripers, the biggest was about 26 inches.

Then the lightning and rain drove us back to the club. Got in the bar just as the skies opened.

Lesson learned: The duration of a storm is directly proportional to the number of times you say "it'll clear up any minute now". Clear up in 5 minutes means 5 hours.
