Anyone have an extra spool for sale for this discontinued reel. Either black or gold doesn't really matter.

Have you tried the bigger dealers? Our local fly shop is suggesting that to folks as they may have a larger supply. You know, like LLBeans, Cabela's.... mail order type of places.

sage,
I recently went to John B's fly shop, it is atttached to the Redington factory in Stuart, FL. I bought the 10 LA that was reconditioned with a larger cork drag, awesome!!! I would imagine that he would have one. I do not have the number handy, sorry. But I can't imagine not being able to get it from information.
Good luck,
Bobby

Bobby,
SUPER INFO. Thanks much. How much did the modified 10 set you back? Always thought these reels were the best buy around.

i don't know where they currently are at this point, but that travelling orvis sale gig was selling the discontinued redington reels. i believe that orvis had bought them out one time and was since trying to dump them (i don't know the whole story). so maybe trying to call them in manchester, vt may be a help.

See the post in the New England forum. Orvis is selling AL reels / spools at big discounts. 1-800-541-3541.
I called yesterday to buy three spools @ $34 each for my AL9/10. They had none left, so I had to buy two reels instead for $74 each. Not a bad deal if there's any spools left.
