After reading about the action around Barnstable Harbor I'm considering a trip there but have the following questions:
1. Ramps. I only see one on my CC map off Bone hill Rd. and a few in Dennis that don't look to far away. Would I be able to find any parking after 10 am?
2. Locations? any specific spots that really produce?
3. Baits. I'm actually bringing my fly rod with some sand eel patterns, probably get em @ the lower forty in Worcester. Has anyonre tried carolina rigging 3" sluggos. That might work if I get frusrated with the fly rod.
As always any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Bone Hill is not a boat ramp. May canoe/kayak/windsurfer.
To Launch in Barnstable Harbor you will want to use the Blish point ramp off the Millway.
There are two ramps there one good one $4 and one that is free but less convenient as you have to park off the road at the end of the marina.
On the out going try any of the channels draining the marsh on the opposite side.
The is a shoal (Horseshoe) opposite the old lighthouse.
Out into the bay pass sandy neck's beach point there are flats.

Yo Bigred! I will be the first of many to reply to your post. Listen to the others because I have very limited experience putting a boat in the water at Barnstable Harbor. You will not be able to put your boat in at Bonehill Rd. There is a ramp at Scudder Lane that is decent at high tide, but I believe you need a residential sticker. There is a ramp and Marina at Blish Pt.(?), never used it, heard the parking lot fills up fast. You might want to drive further down the Cape to Dennis and put in at Sesuit Harbor. Take Rt. 6 to exit #9 (Rt. 134) , left off exit, right on light at Main St., left at the sign for Sesuit Harbor, (Airline Rd., Sea St.?).

Blish Point is a very good ramp to use but you need to watch out for the dead low tides. Suggest you check out the back end of your boat to determine water depth before launch.
It does get crowded so you will need to get there early! Note there has been a lot of sand buildup on the ramp. If you do not have a 4 wheel drive be carefull!
Fishing Monday on the falling tide was very good with pods of bass just outside the harbour entrance mostly in the 20 inch range. With the east wind I moved to the East Bar and had a huge school of bass all to myself in the 25 to 35 inch range hitting poppers. Follow the birds.
