I'm planning to fish the Cape next week, but I won't have access to the boat I've usually fished from. I've seen people in kayaks off Monomoy in the past. Does anyone know where to rent kayaks and how to get out there? I assume it's a package deal?

search the forum for outermost harbor. I know guys put in there...as for retals..goose hummock in Orleans rents I think, but there are a million places on the cape that rent, some on rt 6. just pick one up on your way out there.....you might want to ask around about tides so you don;t get stuck walking over bars and caught in small or big rips and channels. I am not familiar with the area

There is a place on Rt. 28 in Chatham that rents kayaks. I think it's called something like Monomoy Water Sports? Call Fishing The Cape they'll know who it is.

My brother rented one from Goose Hummock and had good results. They have a good selection and a great tackle store.

As for where to launch, I have launched out of the spot mentioned below. I'm sure there are others, but this worked well. The launch spot is on the causeway between Outermost Harbor and Morris Island (on Morris Island Road). As you pass the marina and hit the causeway, you will see Stage Harbor to your right and the southern part of Outermost Harbor on your left. There will be small boats moored here. Park on the left hand side up against the guard rail and near one of the trails cut through to the water.

Monomoy is a good place to kayak, just beware of all the power boats and boating channels. Good luck.
