I'm getting a transom mount trolling motor (50 lbs 60") for my Mako 1550 Inshore, but haven't decided how I'm going to mount it. My friend recently got a Hell's Bay and they installed one on a special mount that can be removed with one bolt and moved to the bow. This is a great set-up (but kind of pricey), but because of limited access to the underside of the rear deck. I'm afraid that I will run into problems. Boat already has trim tabs and a poling platform and they may interfere with installation also. I've also heard of mounting the motor to the poling platform, which I would consider if someone out there has a good way to do it. A photo of the motor mount (or one that looks like it) can be seen at http://www.bluepointfabrication.com/My%20Webs/polingplat.htm If anybody has any helpful hints for me they will be greatly appreciated. I hate the thought of making a modification that doesn't work right or finding
something that is better after the fact. Thanks a lot
