Fishing on the Charles

I plan to fish the Charles River later today from a canoe. My buddy and I will most likely launch in the South Natick area. This is a low-key trip and we hope to catch some calico bass and/or largemouths on poppers. Any suggestions as to where to go to find larger bass, however, would be welcome. We're looking to avoid the most heavily fished areas if possible.
