Bonito

Bonito pods off south shore of fishers island off isabella beach. They were too scattered and were moving around too much but there were quite a few. Couldn't hook up but they were definitiely bonies as they cleared the water multiple times. Looks loke the first anchovies are around and also "rainbait.":)

Where is this Fisher's island? Were you fishing from shore or boat?

Fishers Island is located off the eastern most part of the CT. shoreline, straight across from Mystic/Groton. You will need a boat to get there and I am not talking about a kayak as this Island is quite a haul from the CT. shore if you were paddling. Looks like I will be fishing off of Fishers this Friday to try and lasso some of them 'Bones.

I've been out to Groton, but not to fish. I was told that the opportunities out of that area are pretty good.

I suppose I could trailer out there later in the season, it'd be a long hike though.
