What's your favorite spot to freshwater flyfish in the Northeast? And what time of year?

My experience is limited, but..
I fished a nice little stream in Somerville, ME a few weeks ago. I caught browns, brookies, an Atlantic Salmon spar and another guy caught a smallmouth bass all in the space of about 50 yards. Great evening hatches and some BIG trout.
The best time up there is supposed to be Mid June. I'll be there next year at that time!

I like the blackstone 'cause its close to southern Ma and during the spring they tend to stock the hell out of it with ~3lb trout. If I wasn't so concerned about traveling 3 hours to catch trout then I would have to say the deerfield is the best spot I fish. It has so much natural beauty, nice fish and cold water for most of the year. This area is much different from the swift... big fast water, with the occasional slow water pool. With the lack of good saltwater fishing around Buzzards Bay, I might be haeding out there sooner than predicted.

An early June morning, as the sun starts to come up and warm the air. The water is flowing well and the hatches on the Miller's river are strong. It is a great time for the dry fly fisherman. I fish it for an hour or two on the way to work and rarely am not rewarded with a Brown, Rainbow or two in the 14 - 16 inch range. Don't be surprised if the trout is larger than that, or if you pick up a bass or blue gill as well.
