The Venture is scheduled to go up to Chatham or Glouster this fall for about a month. Timing is around Sept 15 and hopefully most of October... We're doin our annual Giant Bluefin run, but this year will be a bit more serious than in prior years. We're riggin the boat for huge fish and hopefully gonna hang a bunch of them...
We'll have a pro-crew this year. The crew is the probably the best in the north east. One of them took the Hyannis Giant tourny last year with a fish pushin 1000 pounds. Most of the fishing will be done by trolling swimmin horse ballyhoos, split bill style...The gear is 130s off the riggers and plainers run off the 80s, with the lines clipped to additional 130s..
The crew members are also accomplished fly fisherman and when and if the Giant season closes on certain days, we will be fishin flys off the Monomoys....
Hope your albie season is great...I'll have some limited computer access while there at a friends house in Chatham, and I'll keep ya posted as to our whereabouts and our successes / failures and heart breaks...
